Mr. Llama and I have been parents for one week now!! Wow! Time is moving slow and fast at the same pace it seems.
Our sweet Katie Lynn is just adorable. I didn't think it was possibly, but I fall in love with that sweet child a little more each day. She is a wonderful sleeper and will sleep the day away if I'd let her. Because of her small size, we are really focusing on getting as much breastmilk down her as possible and go on a feeding spree every two-three hours like clockwork. I am thankful that she is such a great nurser. We had a rough couple of days, but once she got the hang of it we haven't had an issue. Our midwife is coming by today to check on our progress. Mr. Llama is very excited for the scale to come out and that baby to gain some weight! :)
My dear Mr. Llama is such a proud papa! I love watching him with Katie! The love that radiates from his eyes for his daughter is very touching! Mr. Llama enjoys taking naps with Katie and is wonderful about taking her when I need to get some rest myself. He is also picking up the slack on the household and cooking chores so that I might lounge around and heal. I love that man so much!!! He is amazing.
As for me, I have been recovering nicely and am getting a little antsy about when I can get out of bed and off the couch. I am feeling more and more like my previous normal self, but know I need to be patient and if I let my body heal for a few more days, I will be that much more healthy in the months, years, and babies to come.
We have had some wonderful help this past week with household cleaning, dinners brought in, and kind words. I am very thankful both grandmas were able to come help for a few days and get our house in working clean order. It makes the upkeep that much easier on Mr. Llama! :)
Katie's only been here a week and I can't imagine loving life more than this moment. I absolutely LOVE being her mama! We are truly blessed to have this adorable angel in our lives and are treasuring every moment with her!
