One Year Old

A year ago (give or take a day) our dear sweet KB was born in a bathtub with just her papa and me there to greet her. While I held our angel and thanked Heavenly Father for a healthy child and easy labor, Mr. Llama communicated with the midwife on the phone. He was in such awe and shock that our baby was actually here and I was in sweet bliss about no longer being pregnant.

The day went by in a slow blur. The midwife arrived. The bed got made. Grandma A arrived and helped welcome a baby instead of the planned cleaning house chore. Grandparents P came later that night to greet KB. And just like that the Llama family had a little baby.

As I watched KB on her one year birthday (give or take a day ago), I am so thankful for our dear sweet child. She is growing so well and her little personality is blooming. She is a quick learner, but takes her time testing out those new skills. She is learning to love food that is not liquid, but still has moments of doubt about taste and texture. She loves people as long as the people give her some space. She loves to laugh and be chased throughout the house. KB loves her papa and waking him up in the mornings with her gabbing. She loves feet and will tickle our toes until we tickle hers. She has a sixth sense for where I am at all times. KB is very helpful with laundry and sorting the socks. She also loves the dishwasher and insists that her toys to go in there if the door is open for any length of time. All in all we have a very healthy happy girl who loves her family and who we love endlessly.

Happy Birthday KB! May God continue to bless your sweet spirit!

  2. Oh gosh how the time swiftly flies. You're a beauty of a mother, Kay and Katie is the luckiest little girl to have you. I hope her second year is full of exploring, adventure and more love than she can imagine.
