Storytime!

I am determined to be active in the community and find some friends for myself and KB here in CO. We live in a small town with a very close knit population. I know that if I want to meet people I am going to have to leave the house and get involved!

I heard the library had a story-time on Wednesdays so KB and I started off to find it. We arrived early to assess the situation and was pleasantly surprised by what we found. The library building has a smaller book section for adult and teens, but can order books from practically any library in CO. They have a hefty children's section complete with puppets, toys, couches, and tables. KB's eyes widened upon seeing all the books!

We read books for awhile and then joined in the story-time set up. They provide coloring pages, snacks, activities, actual story reading, and a craft. The librarian who coordinates all this is wonderful and friendly. There were plenty of moms and grandmas who brought their little ones to play. Ages ranged from 7 months to 5 years. KB was painfully shy of course, but I know she will gradually warm up as we go each week. Once KB has attended story-time five times she gets to pick a book to keep.

This library also has access to a program that provides a free book each month to a child from birth to 5 years old as long as they live in the county. Of course I've already signed KB up. We LOVE books in this household!
