Checking in

It's been a busy running around week. We had plans to leave for the weekend, but plans got changed and we ended up staying home. I spent the day catching up on the housework and Katie time. We also got a nice visit from some out of town family. It's always nice to chat for a little bit with family we don't get to see that often.

The house phone have been ringing nonstop with apartment stuff. With the start of the school year a lot of the calls have been from college students... most of them from China. It has made communication difficult at times, but hopefully I got the important points understood. Most nights I am so tired from work that the last thing I want to do is show apartments and return phone calls. I have to remind myself that cheap rent is worth the headache and that once I get the empty units full, I don't have to do anything until another unit frees up.

The work phone has also been ringing with appointments and questions. Being on call 24/7 is exhausting, but then again it brings in extra income and some nights the phone doesn't ring at all. In regards to being at work, I still love it. The best part is the nonexistent office politics. I share a office with another company and listening to their office spats makes me all the more thankful that I don't have to deal with that. I have completely organized my office space and files and impressed my boss so much he gave me a raise after two weeks. Yeah me. :)

At home..... Katie loves spending time with her papa, but is happy to see me when I get home. Papa has her on a schedule that works for them and most nights has dinner waiting for me. It's really nice. I do miss being home with my family during the day, but right now I am thankful for such a great job and the paycheck. When school starts up for Mr. Llama, I'm not sure where Miss Katie will be which causes concern and stress. We are trying to make Papa's school schedule work with my work schedule and limit Katie's time with a babysitter, but there are only so many night classes. I guess I need to start talking to people about babysitting options..... oy.

That's about it for us. We are happy and healthy and busy busy. We love each other and are enjoying life as much as possible.
