One of Kb's chores is to gather and sort all the laundry. She is very good at it and needs minor supervising. We have a three section laundry bin that she sorts the various loads into.
Today it started out a bit mundane and with an exasperated "how are we going to sort ALL THIS laundry!" I told her one piece at a time and she went to work picking through the pile. Shortly after she started I noticed that she was talking to the clothes... Not just talking, but playing with them. My shirts became princess dresses that her imaginary friend looked beautiful in..... Papa's shirts became swaddled up babies that needed rocking and shushing.... Some other clothing items became sails on ships as Kb raced around the apartment... It was very entertaining and enchanting to watch Kb take a mundane chore and turn it into something she enjoyed. As the last piece of clothing was deposited into the proper bin, she exclaimed "ALL DONE!"
