Outside Labors

I have finally convinced my dear hubby that putting a lot of labor and a tiny budget into fixing our apartment backyard is worth it. We are going to live here for at least another year and I want to be able to go outside without worrying about sticker bushes and holes. Plus Katie LOVES being outside and needs to have a safe hazard-free place to play.

First on the list was to extent the patio 2 feet so it is flesh with the fence. This allows one of the BBQs to sit against the fence and gives a tad more room when cooking. Yes, we have more than one BBQ. Yes, we cook outside. A lot.

Second is to fill in the huge holes that our short stayed dog created. We will use most of the dirt from where we extended the patio to accomplish this. For such a little dog, there are some huge holes.

Third is to use my contacts and get a ton of top soil which we will then wheelbarrow to the back. I'm not sure how we are going to accomplish this one yet. The goal was a tiny budget. We spent most of that with the pavers for the patio, so I have to call in some favors to get the dirt delivered. Hopefully I still have some left. :)

Fourth and and beyond are still being figured out. We need to grow some grass (again). The storage area needs some spiffing up and the BBQ situation could use some improvement. Plus the whole garden box needs mucho attention.

I'm excited to have a friendly backyard! Mr. Llama is excited to have some outdoor projects. Katie is excited to be outside and play in some water.

It might just be an apartment backyard, but we happen to be planted here right now therefore we are blooming that backyard!
