We looked everyone online... shelters, foster dog adoptions, classifieds, Pet stores, etc. We finally found our little puppy on ebay.... interestingly enough. The breeder was reputable and the price was amazingly right.
Meet the newest member of the Llama family... Doug
It took three days to settle on a name and I'm still getting used to it. Miss KB says something sounding like "doug" for "dog." We wanted her to be able to say the puppy's name without too much trouble, so after listening to her call the puppy "doug" we named him Doug.
I forgot how much work a puppy is and we still have our moments of frustration with just regular puppy behavior. The house training is the most annoying part of it, but we are making slow progress.... I think.
KB and Doug get along very well.... except when they don't. Doug thinks of KB as another puppy (he came from a litter of 11) and sometimes gets too rough with her. Poor Miss KB has scratch marks all up and down her arms and hands. She sticks up for herself though and we don't let Doug bully her when we see it.
We are crate training Doug and he does really well at night. The nipping is another process that is getting worked on. I won't have a nippy dog and so Doug is learning to chew on toys... and socks..... and whatever else he can get his teeth on. Oy.
Overall we are so happy with our little Doug and know that he will make a great dog as he matures and learns boundaries.
